Slumdog Millionaire

WOW WOw Wow wow...

Had to 'wow' it 4 times cos' - if you've seen the movie you know what I'm 'wow'ing about...

Stayed awake the whole night to watch it win 8 Oscars and 7 BAFTAS .. not to mention 4 Golden Globes and Best Ensemble at the SAG. I'm so very glad that benjamin & nixon were not the academy's favorite.

Already watched it 7 times (will be going for more again).

In fact I'm not yet sure why this movie has caught my eye. I go every time to check every single detail of the movie and i still don't know the answer. I'm just glued into it..
  • is it the screenplay

  • is it the intensity

  • is it the clarity

  • is it the minute details

  • is it as close as reality can get

  • is it the music

  • is it the song

  • is it the children

  • is it Jai Ho

  • is it Mahesh Manjrekars appearance

  • is it love

  • is it the last question

  • is it innocence of Latika

  • is it the determination of Jamal

  • is it the brotherly affection of Salim

  • is it the power of Prem

  • is it the curiosity of the Police Inspector(Irrfan Khan)

  • is it just every single thing

and its everything.. even more than what Ive noted above (especially the last question). This movie has life . The first time i watched the movie.. at the end i realised.. i did not watch it all.. It was me being Jamal and seeing the movie come to life through him. The movie comes to life with its three protagonist Jamal, Latika and Salim. But as for me personally I'd give full credit to my three musketeers - the child actors -the youngest Jamal, Latika & Salim, Definitely deserves a standing ovation for Ayush Mahesh Khedekar, Rubina Ali & Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail.

I basically don't have words to describe this excellent crafted masterpiece. Slumdog Millionaire (as the critic put it) is the ''the feel good film of the decade''. And that was one of the the first very few critic that created the ongoing rave. And then followed more and more and this underdog movie is a smashing it.

Danny Boyle, M. Night Shyamalan - it took them just one movie to make them icons for life (even if their other movies don't work out) for Night it was the Sixth Sense and for Danny Trainspotting. A extremely well deserved award for Boyle and all the other winners (yipeeee for A R Rahman getting 2 Oscars)

Jamal wins 2 million rupees in the Indian version of 'Who wants to be a Millionaire'. And he wins it by surviving / struggling through life & his determination to find Latika. Though Ive heard that there are many loopholes.... come to think of it.. there are NONE. Its the height of perfection. Danny Boyle once said he doesn't believe in perfection. Well cos' that's what he does - its perfection.

I'm not going to comment on the f***ed up comments by renowned bollywood personalities because its utterly bs. Surprising how one can get jealous when a movie / person gets fame it deserves. I'm not surprised why some bollywood starts aren't getting international recognition s/he deserves.

Finally a movie which will always be on top of my list. Fabulous acting, lovely cinematography, mind blowing music and direction to its height of reality.

A must for everyone, a edge of the seat entertainer....

We bring you Slumdog Millionaire.

wow, vinod... written very nicely. I like how the movie starts off, asking us the viewers a question is it luck, is he cheating or is it destiny?
Yeah, I agree the movie is nice, keeps you hooked... beautiful background score too.

WOW????? The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has more to everything thats this movie has. The only thing that amuses me in the movie are the perfection of all the three child actors.

Lame acting by Dev and Pinto... and most of all its a SICKO ending.

An elegant piece of display of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" should have done a sweep in the OSCARS.

Powerful performances by Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.

Over all Benjamin Button deserves more than Slumdog.....

MBX does not know a thing about rt.. leave alone movies, Benjamin actually shoudlnt have won any awards.. not even makeup.. it was a ultimate recepie for disaster.

hmmm.. someones gettin jealous cos his fave Benjamin button did not sweep the oscars. Dev and Frieda did a excellent job - no wonder they are in Nights and Woddys next respectively.

Benjamin Button is way far from the word elegant and more close to the word crap.Infact i think it shouldnt have reached the red carpet. Of course the actors were good.. but to Oscar worthy.

Overall Benjamin was the worst film of the decade.

Xander is just an amateur in movie watching for his absurd views on slumdog. To make it more clear its as if watching a cinematic wallpaper.

Speaking of crap.... its what slumdog movie does...... jumping into crap....

That content itself proves the lack of intellect in its screenplay....

Dev and Pinto might have caught Night's and Allen's eye, but that sight wont be for too long....Just wait and see...

Slumdog Millionaire did sweep the oscars - and my views were right. Amateur or non amateur - take it to your face that Benjamin lost and was the least favorite.

M.B.X has a problem with crap.. Surprisingly he makes it a lot and that’s the only word he likes to debate on.

Its funny when MBX says '' lack of intellect in its screenplay'' - cos' it won the best screenplay in all major award ceremonies. Maybe he needs to take a dip in crap to rethink his views.

Viewers would rather prefer a jump in the crap rather than aging backwards (what sort of disease is that)

Dev and Frieda are the future faces in the comming years. Well MBX you still have to see the sight that they've got prestigious projects lined up. And they wont be aging backwards..

Nice going guys, but I have to agree with Xander here, Slumdog Millionaire was an eye-opener, keeps you at the edge of your seat. And I don't really like Brad Pitt or that Jolie female... so glad they didn't win any award. Anyway all that crap was peanut butter and melted cadbury's chocolate...

wow..nice review vinod. I love SM, its excellent screenplay syncs very well with the BG music. ARR said in an interview that he just composed the music casually without any effort but ppl liked it. He did the same thing for ROJA his first movie and ppl liked it, even ARR was surprised of the results.

Benjamin Button, what's special in that movie? I cannot comment until i see it. I will see it soon.

Vinod, why don't you write a review about Benjamin Button.
